The descendants of some of these burros still roam Nevada. If you happen to spot them and stop to take photos, be warned, they are very curious and friendly. From time to time the Bureau of Land Management steps and takes some of the wild burros to adoptions centers throughout the western states.
Nevada has no shortage of odd roadside attractions and a few can be found around Beatty. It also makes a cool photo opp in the desert.
The museum has interpretive exhibits and artifacts from this one of a kind town. They are open every day 10am to 3pm and admission is free. From the park, turn onto Hwy at Beatty Junction and travel directly into Beatty. They serve delicious barbeque and some really good jalapeno mac n cheese.
