I'll leave others to debate the BIS of staff vs. This sword also has very attractive stats for Holy Paladins as well. The mace has Mp5, a useful, but not necessary stat for Paladins. If you are focusing on just ICC 10, then this is a useful weapon and an easy upgrade.
